Day 2: Visit of Yasnaya Polyana – Tolstoy`s private estate. 320 km from Moscow. Visit of the house of the writer. Walk across the lands of the estate.

Discover Moscow University

Moscow University is Russia`s most prestigious & popular university. Every year thousands of people from all the country enter it. A unique chance to visit inside one of the Seven Sisters in the Sparrow Hills. From the 22nd  floor opens a beautiful panorama of the city including the visit of the museum of Earth Studies. Tour is booked 10 days in advance. Passport data of the visitor is needed to enter the building of the university.

Museum of Cold War

If you want to experience real thrill, go to the Bunker-42. This secret building appeared in the center of Moscow in 1960-ies. During the Soviet time it was closed, but now we have a chance to visit it. At the depth of 60 m under the surface is situated one of the most unusual Moscow`s attractions. You will find yourself in the atmosphere of the Cold War. Special booking is necessary a week in advance. Passport data is necessary. For groups only.       

Visit Stalin`s Bunker

Stalin had a special secret shelter in case of the war. Built in a hidden Moscow area, just 5 km from the Kremlin, it remained a strategic point until 1990-ies. Being made a private museum now it welcomes groups from all over the world. The commander`s study, his table & smoking pipe are definitely worth seeing. Special Georgian-style lunch can be cooked for groups.

Museum of Armed Forces

A former museum of Red Army was created after the revolution and has  memorabilia of 1918-21 & 1941-45. One of the most complete collections is based on the original weaponry of the Soviet army as well as foreign items. The museum covers military history of the Soviet Union since 1917 up to 1970-ies. No pre-booking. Closed on Mondays & Tuesdays.

Museum of the WWII

Situated in the Victory Park, this museum possesses one of the best expositions of the WWII in the world. Five dioramas dedicated to the main events in the war will take you into the times of the real events where you`ll discover the scent of the past. Museum is open every day except for Monday & the last Thursday of the month.

The Yusupov Palace 

In the very heart of Moscow`s Chistye Prudy area is situated a mediaeval mansion of once the richest family in Russia. The Yusupov’s, famous from the 14th century, lived in this house since the 19th century. The chambers belonged to the family of the noblemen Volkovy when Felix Yusupov decided to buy it for his own usage. After a long restoration we finally have a chance to admire the interior of the palace and enjoy the views of the rooms & halls. Pre-booking is necessary a week in advance.
