Klaipeda

Kleipeda is the large non-freezing cruise port on the shore of the Curonian bay and one of the ancient towns in Lithuania, founded in 1252. Despite Kleipeda’s tortuous history, full with wars, bloodshed and violence, many architectural monuments constructed between the 13-19th centuries have survived to the present days. During our group tour, you will walk along the streets of the Old Town which lies on the left bank of the Dana River. Walking along the streets, you will see the pretty houses of burghers and merchants built of stone with stacked framework and the interesting small bronze sculpture: the big-eared little mouse, the cat, the Doberman and the chimney sweep sitting on the roof of the house on Kurly Street. They all bring much luck if you rub their nose, button or ear. Also, you will be able to visit the Amber Museum, the largest amber museum in the Europe. Kleipeda is a very cosy town in Lithuania, and we would be happy to share its cosiness and warmth with you.

During our group tour, you will be able to visit the Curonian Spit. The northern cape of the Curonian Spit is located right opposite to the port of Kleipeda. Here you will get by ferry which brings you to the spot for 10 minutes. The Curonian spit is famous for its preserve which is a part of the World Nature Heritage. The most fascinating nature’s work on the Spit is sand-dunes which reach up to 1 km in width. Moreover, this is a habitat for many birds including the biggest colony of black cormorants and herons. Nowadays, no doubts, this is a symbol of the present Lithuania. During our private tour, you will be able to walk along the streets of the Old Town which lies on the left bank of the Dana River.
