Visa/Tour Tickets

According to the Russian legislation a licensed tour operator has the right to arrange visa-free tours for cruise passengers arriving to St. Petersburg port. TJ Travel is an officially registered tour operator authorized to issue blanket visas. You will receive your free blanket visas (tour tickets) through email once you book a shore excursion with us. Please ignore warnings from your cruise ship company indicating that only a cruise ship company is allowed to run visa-free tours in St. Petersburg. Warnings/notifications of that kind don’t have any legitimate basis.

Please note you must print your blanket visas received via email from TJ Travel and bring it along with your passports each day of your tour. Blanket visas and your passports should be presented to an immigration officer on duty during disembarkation/embarkation in St. Petersburg.

Payment information  

We don’t require any prepayment for St Petersburg group tours. Payment can be made either upon your arrival to St. Petersburg or any time prior to the date of your tour. In St. Petersburg you can either pay for your package (tour) in cash (only Rubles are accepted) or by credit card.

Cancelation policy

If you or any other member of your party decides to cancel your confirmed booking you must notify us in writing. All payments are fully refundable 72 hours prior to the date of your tour; payments are non-refundable within 72 hours prior to the date of your tour. In case of a no-show, no refund is granted.

Availability

  • Special price is available for all bookings until 1 January 2020! Please contact us for further details.
  • Available from selected cruise ships with a three-day stop in St. Petersburg.
  • Please ensure to make your booking at least 4-5 days prior to your ship's arrival to St. Petersburg. The port authorities require all passport information in advance, and the bookings sent in less than 4 days prior to arrival will be rejected.
  • Not recommended for people with limited mobility. In case you are traveling with a wheelchair or mobile scooter, please consider a private option.

Notes

  • The tour includes three lunches in a local cafe or restaurant. Please let us know if you have any food restrictions in advance.
  • Please note that in case Catherine palace and the Hermitage museum are overcrowded, museum authorities may limit the entrance which cause an extra waiting time – up to 45 min.

Tips and Discounts

  • Children under 7 y.o. are free of charge. Children (7 - 17 y.o.)/students get 50 USD off the tour price. Students of 18+ must have an ISIC card, otherwise the discount is not available.
  • Gratuities to the guide and driver are not included in the tour price. The sum you wish to give to your guide and driver after a well-done tour should be up to the western standards (approximately 15%). It is a good idea to divide gratuity between your guide and driver and give it separately to them: 10% to the guide and 5% to the driver. Please have some cash with you (USD, EUR or RUB) for this reason, but it is always up to you!

See St. Petersburg most famous landmarks including: St. Isaaс’s Cathedral (photo-stop), Admiralty, Neva river, Menshikov Palace, Sphinx at the Academy of Fine Arts, Bronze Horseman, English Embankment, Wedding Registration Palace №1, etc.

​Guided tour of Peter and Paul Fortress, including a visit to the Peter&Paul Cathedral/Fortress

Peter and Paul Fortress is the place where the city originated and that can be considered a starting point of the future Russian capital. Located on a small picturesque island the fortress preserved the original layout and the atmosphere of the old town. During your visit to Peter&Paul Cathedral/Fortress you will hear legends and fascinating stories about the royal family and the last Russian tsar – Nicolas II.

Shared boat ride along rivers and canals

Take a ride on a comfortable boat along picturesque rivers and canals and enjoy a captivating panorama of St. Petersburg. A boat ride is a great privilege to see UNESCO World Heritage sites at a short distance and take beautiful pictures of royal gardens, noble mansions and famous draw bridges.

Guided tour of Yusupov Palace

This old mansion uncovers the history of a noble family that was at least as wealthy as the Russian royal family. A beauty of the official state rooms is astonishing even today. Besides the splendid halls you will hear a thrilling story about the murder of Rasputin and see where the assassination took place.

Guided tour of the Church on the Spilled Blood

This church is a glorious example of the Russian old architecture that was recreated in its design. Mosaics showing biblical scenes form an unrivaled ecclesiastic atmosphere inside. Indulge in contemplation of mosaic panels and learn how this church became a memorial to the Russian tsar Alexander II.

​Guided tour of the Faberge Museum

Admire one of the best collections of jewelry works by the House of Faberge in the modern Faberge Museum. Easter Eggs are the central part of the display that made the name Faberge synonym of elegance and high jewelry quality. Among the collection highlights there are jewelry presentation boxes, imperial gifts, icons, silverware, objets de fantaisie, etc.

At the central viewing point you will admire panoramic views of the garden and the central canal with the unique Grand Cascade.

Guided tour of the General Staff Building. Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art collection

General Staff Building is one of the modern storage buildings of the Hermitage where you can find a beautiful collection of Impressionists and 20th century masters, including Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Gauguin, etc. Learn about Salon des Refusés and the creation of the new trends in painting at the turn of the 20th century.

​Guided tour of St. Isaaс’s Cathedral

The gracious cathedral used to be the main Russian Orthodox cathedral in the 19th century that could hold up to 14000 people on a service. The best architects and sculptors worked for 40 years to create the unique monument of the best achievements in engineering and art. Inside tour will cover the main highlights, including the central cupola fresco and the iconstand decorated with lapis lazuli and malachite.
