You will be met by your tour guide at the cruise terminal near the statue of a boy waiving to all coming travelers. After crossing the Chain bridge you will approach the site of the former Klaipeda castle to see its ruins, and learn interesting facts about the ancient roots of the city. The next stop is the Theater Square, the very heart of Klaipeda. It‘s named after the Drama theater that played an important role in the cultural life of the city. In front of the theatre there is a monument to "Ann from Tharau" who was a ladylove of one German poet. There are more unusual sculptures and monuments that you will discover during your walking tour, including "the mysterious mouse", "the cat with the face of a gentleman", a chimney sweeper, etc. The city was well fortified in the past and you will see the best preserved part of the former fortification complex on Jonas Hill. The impressive system of bastions and ravelins was once one of the largest and most complex in Europe. The Amber Queen museum is another treasure of Klaipeda that displays rare pieces of amber, inclusions, a great collection of antique amber and some beautiful objects of art. After the end of the tour, you can get some recommendations on where to taste traditional dishes or what else to see in the Old Town..
