Riga walking tour
End of the tour
Take a stroll around the city center to uncover the Art Nouveau Quarter that looks like a museum of elaborately designed decorative facades. During a relaxing walk along Riga’s boulevards, you will admire the 20thcentury architecture and take a look at the most interesting and colorful buildings, decorated with massive masks, peacocks and geometrical figures.
Next, we will follow the footsteps of German knights and kings along the ancient streets of the Old Town. Once a rich trading center for Baltic tribes, Riga remains a charming city that could be a great scene for a historical movie now.
We will see the remarkable Small and Great Guild Halls with the statue of Roland, pass the famous trio of buildings known as the Three Brothers, enjoy a view over Riga Castle and the Powder Tower. Finally, we will find ourselves on the largest square in the downtown dominated by Riga Dome Cathedral, the seat of the Latvian Lutheran Church’s archbishop. This church is famous for its magnificent organ designed in the 19th century.
After the tour ends at the House of the Blackheads, you will have a lot of time to shop for some souvenirs before returning to the port located at a walking distance. Your tour guide will be happy to give you some advice on what to do during your free time.
