The tour starts at “Admiralteyskaya” metro station where your friendly guide will greet you with a TJ Travel sign.
We will first see the best known highlights of the city center including St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Admiralty Garden, Bronze Horseman, Menshikov palace, St. Petersburg State University, the Hermitage Museum and the Palace Square. And then we will head to a more discreet part of the city.
A net of courtyards, or “wells”, will give you an idea of how the city was designed and planned. This quarter is often called “the golden triangle” of St. Petersburg and reveals all the main architectural styles of the city. Ornate domes of the neo-Russian Church on the Spilled Blood, classical Roman structures of the Imperial Horse Stables and intricate art nouveau railings of Michael’s Garden coexist in harmony next to each other. But how much does it cost to live within these historical surroundings and what hides behind the gorgeous facades? You will discover that the rich and the poor often live under the same roof, and learn other aspects of modern life in St. Petersburg.
At the end of the tour you will find yourself in the cozy atmosphere of a local bar, where you can try traditional Russian nastoikas (flavoured vodka) and chat with your guide about famous Russian beverages and related traditions. Before you leave the guide to enjoy the rest of your day, please feel free to ask any questions.
